Amazon Indigenous Villages Visit
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at the pier on the Iquitos Boulevard, where we'll board a traditional boat to visit the indigenous communities of the Amazon. An unforgettable journey awaits!
We'll sail along the Itaya River, taking in incredible views of the lush nature surrounding us and learning about the distinctive features of the jungle landscape that defines this part of South America.
After reaching the confluence of the Itaya and Amazon rivers, we'll head into the heart of the Amazon jungle. Sailing along the Nanay River, we'll visit the Bora and Kukama communities. We'll step off the boat and share the experience with members of these tribes, discovering their customs and traditions firsthand. Among them is the story of the famous masato, a traditional Amazonian drink made from fermented cassava. An ancestral ritual that will leave you fascinated!
We'll continue our boat trip along the shore of the Padre Cocha community, where we'll have the chance to try traditional piranha fishing, and visit the Pílpintuwasi butterfly farm, the perfect place to observe the wide variety of butterflies and exotic animals that inhabit the jungle.
Finally, we'll make our way back to the Iquitos pier, wrapping up the tour 6 to 7 hours later.
